"In this show cause notice, the authority has asked the company to provide the reasons for claiming custom duty exemption on the import of certain category of goods and to pay the differential duty of INR 3,81,37,748 along with applicable interest and penalty," the company said in a regulatory filing.
Maruti Suzuki stated that this notice would not have a major impact on its financial, operational, or other activities.
As of the latest trading, shares of Maruti Suzuki were up 0.34%, closing at INR 12,206.85 apiece on the BSE.
